Check the approval status of technical institutions with AICTE
If you are interested in getting admission in the institutions imparting engineering, pharmacy, management and architectural institutions, first check the credibility and approval status of the institution with All India council of Technical Education. The AICTE is a statutory body created by an act of parliament and the council is responsible for marinating the standards and regulating the technical education in India. It's mandatory for a new technical institute to get approved by the said council. No new institutions can impart above said educational programmes without prior approval of the council or even an approved institution can not increase its intake or introduce new programmes. AICTE has issued public notice to get the institution’s approval status checked with the council, as the council has received information regarding un-approved institutions issuing admission notices for the afore said courses. So, before taking admission log onto http://www.aicte.ernet.in, as this is in your interest. There are numerous fake institutions offering such courses and after spending a lot of money and valuable time, the student gets nothing except frustration and depression. Actually, The AICTE is vested with statutory authority for planning, formulation and maintenance of norms and standards, quality assurance through accreditation, funding in priority areas, monitoring and evaluation, maintaining parity of certification and awards and ensuring coordinated and integrated development and management of technical education in the country. The purview of AICTE (the Council) covers programmes of technical education including training and research in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, Applied Arts and Crafts, Hotel Management and Catering Technology etc. at different levels.
